The bread was good with butter, olive oil, or soup, though my personal favorited was in fact with the sauce that came with the ravioli.
Yes, I took pictures of parts of the menu, for one of my hobbies is to read menus(to collect when possible) and figure out what I want for next time, whenever that may be.
The Jonah crab cakes with corn relish and roasted garlic remoulade. I liked it. I generally like the crab cakes as long as you can feel the actual crab... believe me, in some dorms they serve you crab cakes which you can not feel the chewiness but merely the faint scent of crab. I like the sauce.Yes, I took pictures of parts of the menu, for one of my hobbies is to read menus(to collect when possible) and figure out what I want for next time, whenever that may be.
And here is the "Toasted" Lobster Ravioli with Lobster Sherry cream sauce. Actually, my favorite part of this second appetizer was not the ravioli itself but the sauce. I devoured the very last drop of extra sauce that was brought, almost wiping off the dish with bread. I mean, I am not a big fan or lobster but the sauce or bisque made of it just gets me.
So we shared the appetizer. I liked the crab cake better but the lobster sherry cream sauce made me even consider getting the toasted ravioli in dinner portion(it's on the menu). But once Linnea, my hostmom, pointed out the Lamb shank and how it is usually a fall-winter food and will be out of the menu soon, I had to go for the meat. Yum.
Today's soup was Manhattan Seafood Chowder, if I remember it correctly. Though it was okay, I guess I prefer creamy soups. I was expecting something more like Boston Clam Chowder or Lobster Bisque. Maybe I should have tried the 220 Creamy Minestrone instead.
This roasted chicken is what Rick, my hostdad, ordered. Originally me, Linnea, and Rick were all going to get Lamb Shank, but when I said I would like to change my order for variety, Rick changed his order. I am sorry! But I wanted to try different stuff since I know that I cannot come here every weekend tasting everything. Yet the chicken looks good!
So, I heard 220 is famous for its spicy creamy pasta with Italian sausage. But Lizz made her custom order, having penne with lobster sherry cream sauce with a little bit of spiciness to it. I guess Linnea did not think that sounded like the most delectable thing, it turned out pretty good, actually. I liked it and half due to Lizz's kindness and half due to my talkie-talkie, the left over became mine. I like how the penne was not over cooked and the grilled chicken was soft. Maybe next time, the original spicy penne would be the thing I'd try.
And last but not least, the lamb shank with fall vegetable risotto. I guess it is not "fall" vegetable anymore when it is middle of may, but I liked it anyways. The risotto was very good on the top but the lower parts were a little bit soaky, but I guess you can't help it. The lamb was very soft, and though I generally like the rich and chewy texture of ribeye or sirloin, this was definitely worth a try. I liked it but could finish only half, full of the bread and bits of pasta I stole from Lizz. Again, this and Linnea's leftover both became mine to take home, which I gladly had for early dinner today.
So? I really liked 220. I would love to go there again once I have an occasion or company. With a student's budget, it may be a nice idea to skip either the appetizer or the soup though.^.^
